FAQ
How do I track my parcel?
After placing an order, you'll receive an email or text with your order confirmation, shipping details, and tracking number. Please provide a valid mobile number (not a landline) for updates.
If there’s an issue with your parcel, contact the courier company. Still stuck? Reach out to us, and we’ll help!
How long will my order take to arrive?
We dispatch all orders from our HQ in Auckland. Once shipped, delivery typically takes 1–3 working days. However, slight delays of up to a week may occur due to high courier demand. We only ship chocolate Monday - Wednesday to ensure the highest quality on arrival.
What currency are your prices in?
All prices are in NZD.
I’m a store or business interested in wholesale.
Please email support@chocolatebrown.co.nz with your store details for our wholesale terms.
How long does your product last?
Our products have a shelf life of 12–18 months. Check the best-before date on the packaging for details.
Is your chocolate allergy-friendly?
Check each product’s ingredient list and allergen statement for specifics. While some items cater to vegan, gluten-free, and other dietary needs, our shared facilities may pose a small allergen risk. For detailed inquiries, contact us via chat or email.
Is your chocolate suitable for baking?
Absolutely! Since we don’t use additional fats or emulsifiers, our chocolate may melt differently from other baking products, perfect for creating delicious treats.
How is your chocolate made?
We craft our chocolate the old-fashioned way, in small batches, mostly by hand. Using thoughtfully sourced ingredients, we prioritise quality and care in every step.
Why isn’t your dark chocolate labelled vegan?
Our dark chocolate does not contain any dairy ingredients. However, it is made on the same production line as our milk chocolate. Because of this, there is a possibility that trace amounts of milk could be present due to cross-contamination.
Does this mean your dark chocolate contains milk?
No milk ingredients are added to our dark chocolate. The “may contain milk” statement relates only to the shared production environment.
Why don’t you make a vegan claim?
We follow the recommended guidance of both the Allergen Bureau and our chocolate supplier. Their advice is that vegan claims should not be made when there is any risk of cross-contamination with animal-derived ingredients.
Is your dark chocolate suitable for people with dairy allergies?
If you have a milk allergy, we recommend avoiding this product, as we cannot guarantee it is completely free from milk traces.
What are the white marks on my chocolate?
White marks are called "bloom," caused by temperature or moisture changes. While it might look different, the chocolate is safe to eat and tastes the same. You can even remelt it to restore its appearance.
